‘Raising Kanan’ Recap: Unique Confronts Raq + Kanan Draws His Own Conclusions
On the latest episode of “Raising Kanan,” Kanan blames Raq for Unique’s attack on the business. Plus, Raq makes peace with her mother. Here is the recap for, “Allow Me To Re-Introduce Myself.”
Raq isn’t able to get through to Unique.
Unique hops off Raq’s kitchen countertop with a gun drawn in her direction. She’s in shock. Raq didn’t think Unique would be the person she’d see when entering her home. He pushes her against the wall and accuses her of setting up his death to take over his territories to run with Kanan.
Raq tells Unique she’d never do that to him but Unique isn’t hearing any of this. He believes Raq sets up all the men she romances. When Raq says Ronnie betrayed Unique and acted on his own, Unique doesn’t believe her. The plan is to beat her at the game before killing her. He brags about killing her attorney and robbing her spots before leaving.
Lou Lou meets with Imani at a restaurant to hash things out. He tells her he did sleep with Jess but it didn’t mean anything to them. They were just hurting over Famous’ death.
Imani understands Lou is still a single man so he didn’t wrong her although it stings. He grabs her hand to console her.
Kanan and Raq clash.
Raq meets with Lou Lou, Kanan, Jukebox, and Marvin to talk about Unique’s return. Kanan blames her for all of his troubles. She reminds him that she is the only reason he is still alive. After he storms off, Marvin tells Raq that a belt is what Kanan needs. As for Juke, she suggests the adults start listening to Kanan because he’s “grown.”
Unique finally lets Pernessa know he’s alive. She gives him a huge hug.
Raq thinks the most important thing to get done is to find out who is backing Unique because their association to Stefano is likely what’s keeping Unique from killing her now. Lou is ready to get back into the game and protect his loved ones. Marvin is happy to see him back in action.
When Unique blames Raq for Ronnie’s attempt on his life, Pernessa doubts she’d partner with Ronnie to do this. Unique snaps and sees this as betrayal, but Pernessa is able to calm his down by hugging him.
Marvin refuses to betray Raq.
Stefano tells Raq and Marvin the only Italians that would cross him are Sal’s people. They are just using Unique to go to war with him. With Unique now working with Quan, Raq’s grocery store hustle will likely be taken. Stefano warns Raq not to let her history with Unique cloud her thinking.
Marvin later suggests to Raq they make a move on Stefano. He also hands his gun over to Juke to protect herself during unsafe times. But he doesn’t want the street life for her.
B-Rilla’s plan to have his associates rob Lowell while he’s at home results in chaos. He is told Lowell shot one of the robbers, so he and his wife were shot and killed.
Jukebox hooks up with a woman inside of the club and refuses to give her phone number after.
Stefano meets with Marvin alone. He tries to convince Marvin to replace Raq but he refuses. Now that Stefano knows Phil Russo is backing Unique, he’s certain he wants to avoid a war. Marvin says Russo wants payback for Stefano killing Sal. This isn’t on Raq.
Raq makes peace with Joyce.
Lowell surprises B Rilla when he appears at the studio. He says the couple who was renting his property was robbed and killed.
Marvin admits to doing work for Stefano behind Raq’s back. He feels he has a right to make his own moves.
While Kanan is sitting in the apartment in the dark, he tells Krystal that Raq killed Famous.
Raq takes Marvin’s advice to spend some time with Joyce in her last days. They reminisce about Joyce making the neighborhood kids bring their dogs to the house on Raq’s 5th birthday because she wanted a dog. It was one of the nicest things Joyce ever did for Raq. They discuss Lou and Marvin refusing to kill Joyce so she can be done with her physical pain. After a tearful exchange, Raq does the deed.
